ClawMate Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 27, 2026

ClawMate is a companion app for OpenClaw, an open-source personal AI assistant. This policy explains how ClawMate handles your data — which is to say, it largely doesn't.

What ClawMate Does

ClawMate connects directly to your own self-hosted OpenClaw gateway over a WebSocket connection. All conversations, commands, and agent interactions happen between your device and your own server. We have no visibility into your conversations and store nothing on our end.

Microphone Access

ClawMate requests microphone access to enable voice input. When you use the voice input feature:

In neither case does ClawMate record, store, or transmit your audio to any ClawMate-operated server.

In-App Purchases

ClawMate offers an optional one-time in-app purchase to unlock fully offline voice recognition. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). ClawMate does not collect or store payment information.

Data We Do Not Collect

ClawMate does not collect, store, or transmit:

Your OpenClaw Gateway

ClawMate stores your OpenClaw gateway URL and authentication token locally on your device using encrypted storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore). This information is never transmitted to any third party and is used solely to connect to your own server.

Third-Party Services

ClawMate itself does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The following third-party components are used:

Children's Privacy

ClawMate is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of ClawMate after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
